What brought you to Powell River?: My husband and I moved here during COVID to escape from the stressful (and frankly toxic) lifestyle of the city. We came to Powell River to start our family and be closer to nature.
When you're not working, how do you like to spend your time?: I love to learn, so even when I am not working, I am often improving my work skills one way or another. When I want to relax and unwind though, you can find me walking the various trails with my family, volunteering at the church, or simply spending a lazy afternoon at home with my kid. I love to surround myself with people and knowledge.
What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid? : When I was little I wanted to be a mermaid. As I got older I realized mermaids aren't real so I wanted to be a marine biologist instead. Imagine my disappointment to find out now, that being a mermaid is a real job these days!
What's one thing about you that surprises people?: You'll have to get to know me first before I reveal all my secrets!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?: Personally: don't try to grow up too fast. Professionally: systemize
What is a dream you have that you’ve yet to achieve?: I want to make a difference in someone's life
What do you love most about your career? : I love everything about it. I love working with business owners to help them get a better understanding of their business numbers. I love the puzzle that bookkeeping can sometimes be. I love that there is a right way and a wrong way to do things - I do best in the black and white.
