For over 40 years I have designed gift baskets for every occasion "to give you the gift of giving." While keeping with the latest trends, and sourcing the best products from Powell River, Canada, and around the world The Basket Case delivers impressive gifts that are thoughtfully created and personal.

Under the Marigold Lane I have developed a line of innovative sweet, savoury and spicy preserves, marmalades and condiments for every taste. I have a large garden and strive to raise as many of the fruits and vegetables for the preserves, or source them as locally as possible.

What brought you to Powell River?: The Powell River stork.

When you're not working, how do you like to spend your time?: Reading, Tai Chi, and volunteering where possible.

What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid? : Wow, that is so long ago! I wanted to be a ballerina!

What's one thing about you that surprises people?: Although growing up on a dairy farm in Cranberry, I had to learn how to milk cows after marrying a man that wanted to farm.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?: Look for the best in everybody - I try to follow my mother's example.

What is a dream you have that you’ve yet to achieve?: I think that by becoming an octogenarian I have achieved it (unless it is becoming a nonagenarian).

What do you love most about your career? : After all these years I still get excited about developing a new product. I also love creating and delivering baskets and seeing the pleased expressions when they receive it.
